Once in a while, one thing unexpectedly superior occurs in your retro-gaming life, and this time it got here courtesy of my higher half, Ms Ausretrogamer herself.
Whereas I used to be busy diving into pixels, pinballs, and handheld nostalgia, she secretly gathered each move, badge, lanyard, pin, medal, and random bits of retro-event paraphernalia I’ve collected over years of attending expos, conventions, tournaments, open days, and launch occasions. We’re speaking the entire backlog of recollections and nerd credentials.
After which she went full curator mode.
What I noticed subsequent completely blew me away:
- All of it superbly framed.
- A museum-grade collage of my adventures throughout the retro-gaming universe.
- A time capsule of pleasure, fandom, and button-mashing historical past – all now hanging proudly in our video games room.

It stopped me in my tracks! It jogged my memory of all of the wonderful locations we’ve been, the good folks we’ve met, the tournaments we battled in, the arcades we rediscovered, and the countless good instances that include being a part of this unimaginable group. It’s not simply memorabilia – it’s a reminder that each occasion left a mark, and that she and I shared so lots of these moments collectively.
Actually… she nailed it.
The composition, the colors, the layering – chef’s kiss. This isn’t only a wall of frames; it’s a tribute wall to retro gaming tradition and to the epic recollections that hold the Ausretrogamer flame burning brilliant.
So right here’s to Ms Ausretrogamer, the mastermind behind this distinctive and really particular creation. The video games room simply levelled up, and so did my coronary heart. ❤️
